ZIBS Research Center for Digital Economics and Financial Innovation, a research institution affiliated to and directly under ZIBS, was established on July 7, 2021. 
The research center closely follows the popular research topics in the field of social sciences such as digital economy and financial innovation, optimizes the new business education at ZIBS, strengthens the accumulation of scientific research achievements at ZIBS, integrates the academic ecosystem at ZIBS, and consolidates and expands the scientific research cooperation with well-known universities, enterprises and governments at home and abroad, to instruct students in scientific research innovation and thesis writing, and provide academic support. 
The main research fields include interdisciplinary fields related to economy, finance and business data analysis; emerging fields: digital economy, fintech, digital trade, live broadcast economy, and green finance; traditional fields: quantitative trading, machine learning, real estate economics, health economics, environmental economics, and regional and urban economics.
