ZIBS Latin America Center Plays an active role in Promoting China- Brazil Connections

On May 10th, Mr. Rodrigo Moura, Executive-Director of ZIBS Latin America Center joined the meeting with Ms. Yao Yan, Deputy Director of the Chongqing International Culture Exchange Center to discuss about the promotion of cultural, business, investments, sports and research activities between Brazil and China.

Many projects were presented, all focusing on the celebrations of 50 years of diplomatic relations between Brazil and China that will take place in 2024. Among the projects that attracted the most attention was the proposal of an artistic intervention in the two cities (São Paulo and Chongqing) and the presentation of Sapiens Industrial and Technological Park of Florianopólis as a destination for Chinese investments.



On May 11, Mr. Rodrigo Moura, Executive Director of ZIBS Latin America Center met Ms. Zhang Qin, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Government of Chongqing to deliver credentials appointing him as an intermediary in promoting the partnership between Chongqing and São Paulo as sister cities. ZIBS Latin America Center will join the working group between the two cities to help them improve relations. This initiative already leaves projects with social, environmental, academic and economic impact that will benefit both cities. The Municipality of Chongqing already plans a visit to São Paulo at the end of July and the ZIBS Latin America Center will organize this meeting with the City of São Paulo.
