On May 15, Prof. Steven Roberts, Dean of the College of Business and Economics (CBE), ANU; Prof. Vinh Lu, Director of Research School of Management at ANU; and Jessie ZHAO, CBE Career Consultant at ANU China Liaison Office, paid a visit to ZIBS during which the CBE delegation had fruitful discussions with ZIBS leadership as well as ZIBS faculty and students.
ZIBS and CBE have had a firm foundation for a long time. The "Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship" program co-initiated by the two institutions boosted inter-university cooperation between ZJU and ANU and is now advancing. Last year on April 27, ZJU and ANU signed a MoU on institutional cooperation, which marked the beginning of the partnership.
Prof. BEN Shenglin, Dean of ZIBS, and Prof. QU Haidong, Vice Dean of ZIBS, welcomed the CBE delegation and expressed ZIBS anticipation for future collaboration. The CBE delegation visited the International Campus and ZIBS new building. Later, a meeting about future ZIBS-CBE collaboration took place, during which both sides exchanged and discussed the core tasks for the next stage of collaboration with the hope that the smooth progress of the "Digital Transformation and Entrepreneurship" program will promote resource sharing and help cultivate high-level, international, and diverse business talents.
Prof. BEN Shenglin expressed his delight in having the opportunity for in-depth conversation with the CBE delegation in person. Earlier this year in February, Prof. Brian P. Schmidt, Vice-Chancellor of ANU and Nobel laureate, was invited to ZIBS Global Leaders Series to share his views on future opportunities between Chinese and Western universities. The event strengthened the friendship between ZIBS and ANU and also stimulated future potential and opportunities for collaboration in education and cultural exchange.
Prof. Steven Roberts pointed out that ANU is very keen on cooperation with ZIBS and looks forward to building more connections. Also, ANU welcomes more comprehensive cooperation with ZIBS in the future. Moreover, Prof. Vinh Lu mentioned that scholars and professors from CBE, especially Research School of Management, spoke highly of ZIBS and looked forward to ZIBS-CBE cooperation in the future.
Both ZIBS and CBE leadership recognized each other as highly important strategic partners. As Prof. BEN Shenglin mentioned during the meeting, the collaboration between ANU and ZIBS could be interpreted as one starting from "A" to "Z" (according to the alphabet) as both institutes are dedicated to building a deeper and more comprehensive partnership with each other.
After the meeting, Prof. Steven Roberts and CBE delegation met with ZIBS international students in person and exchanged perspectives on study abroad experience, career development, internship, employment and so on.
