From July 14 to 16, 2022, Zhejiang University's 141st and 142nd training sessions under the title "Excellent Teachers for Education" were offered in Haining International Campus. More than 70 secretaries of staff Party branches at the college and departmental level and teachers who have returned to China received training. The training was organized and implemented by the Party School, the Party Committee's Teachers' Work Department, the Party Committee's Organization Department, and ZIBS. WANG Jingdai, Director of the Human Resources Department and the Party Committee's Teachers' Work Department, presided over the opening ceremony of the training.
CHEN Yunmin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and professor of the College of Civil Engineering and Architecture, attended the opening ceremony, presented flags to the two training classes, and gave the first special-topic lecture "National Demand, Sci-Tech Innovation and Basic Research". He emphasized that researchers should place a premium on connotative development, calibrate to the needs of state key strategies, spot major scientific issues in their area of research, and propose original concepts, principles, and methods. He encouraged young teachers to raise their research taste, seek the right research directions, and conduct organized research and free exploration.

The training lasted for 3 days and adopted various teaching forms such as special-topic lectures, in-person teaching, seminars, and participatory teaching. The focus was on strengthening university Party branches, integrating Party building with business, improving the staff's teaching ethics, boosting educators' literacy in humanities, promoting their cultural identity, enhancing their personal development, promoting strategies for opening up to the globe and the internationalization of subjects, supplementing curriculum with politics, safeguarding integrity in scientific research, and bettering teacher conduct.

In addition to theoretical training, team-building activities and seminars also provided a platform for mutual understanding and communication. At Jiaxing Culture and Art Center, the trainees visited the Special Exhibition of Major Schools of Chinese Paintings and appreciated the fine Chinese paintings from different historical periods up close. The wonderful explanations enabled them to get a deeper understanding of the vast and profound Chinese culture.
