"A RMB 200-billion market share", "a growth rate of over 30% for three consecutive years amid the pandemic", "over RMB 80 million in revenue"... What kind of enterprise is this? The story and culture of Hangzhou Juhe Biotech can satisfy our curiosity.
On June 24, BEN Shenglin, Dean of ZIBS, visited the company with the iMBA students to learn about corporate operations.
The clean, tidy and orderly production zone behind the gate impressed everyone. General Manager LIU Runyu warmly received them. LIU Runyu, an alumnus of Zhejiang University, is the founder of the company. He introduced the company's business in the segment of food additives and enthusiastically shared the corporate culture and values he has created in his entrepreneurial activities over the past 10 years. LIU Runyu said that his study at Zhejiang University was a precious time that will benefit him throughout his lifetime. Study is a process of "consolidation and internalization", he added.
According to LIU Runyu, Juhe Biotech has always adhered to the business philosophy that "serving customer needs is the only reason for our existence". Based on the development of his own company, he has derived the ways to serve customers from concepts like "consensus", "responsibility", and "shared duties".
The sincere sharing greatly inspired the iMBA students. LIU Runyu's story reflects the spirit of Zhejiang businessmen who are ready to endure hardships, think, and learn. Students who are starting a business learned from LIU Runyu's entrepreneurial endeavors that concentration on product improvement is very important.
During the Q&A session, the iMBA students interacted with LIU Runyu on issues such as supply chain crunch during the COVID-19, strategic planning, and experience in corporate management. Afterwards, the students visited the company's workshops. Processing standards and operation norms are posted on the walls of all the workshops. LIU Runyu said that he learned the operation norms and management procedures from the well-known foreign companies he had visited. He spent years developing good working habits of the employees. These stories benefited the iMBA students a lot.
As the saying goes, we can see the big from the small. From the management of workshops and operation standards to corporate culture and business model, all reflect the dedication of a company and LIU Runyu's persistence in professional services to customers.
The visit enabled us to get to know the hidden champion in biotechnology up close and to feel an excellent company's sense of responsibility for customers and society. What kind of company will our next visit take us to?
