Recently, Peerasak Atsawathaweebun, a Thai student from the ZIBS Global Communication and Management (GCM) program, had an unforgettable experience at the 3rd Global Digital Trade Expo. He was also invited to participate in a documentary titled  Opportunities in China at the Global Digital Trade Expo of ZTV-World, where he shared his observations and insights from the Silk Road E-commerce Exhibition.

The Global Digital Trade Expo is China's only national-level international professional exhibition under the theme of digital trade. By visiting the Silk Road E-commerce Exhibition at this year's Expo, Peerasak gained an in-depth understanding of various products, digital services, and live steaming marketing strategies related to Silk Road E-commerce. He also immersed himself in the innovative and vibrant atmosphere of the expo, enhancing his insights into the latest trends in cross-border e-commerce, data and finance, artificial intelligence, and electronic consumer goods.

As a guest country of honor, Thailand showcased many local products in the pavilion, which delighted and surprised Peerasak. China's thriving digital trade represents a tremendous opportunity for the whole world! he remarked.

Notably, Peerasak had the opportunity to engage in close discussions with Ekachat Seetavorarat, the Deputy Permanent Secretary of Thailand's Ministry of Commerce. They explored topics such as the current digital wave and entrepreneurial opportunities for Gen Zers. Ekachat emphasized, For anyone looking to break into e-commerce, the key is finding the right market and offering products that resonate with your target audience. That's how you'll succeed.

Attending this expo has been incredibly amazing! I learned how the latest maritime digital AI technology enables real-time tracking of product shipments, which will significantly enhance the user and customer experience. I also consulted with representatives from Alibaba, Chinagoods, Yiwu Pay, etc. about various opportunities and the latest relevant policies. I noticed many home appliance suppliers whose products closely resemble those produced by my parents' company. With so many excellent suppliers in China, instead of focusing on competing for market share, we should consider transforming competitors into partners. I believe the potential for cooperation between China and Thailand far outweighs any competition.

I also explored various cutting-edge applications in cross-border e-commerce during the expo. Previously, digital payments were not widely accepted in Thailand due to concerns over security and privacy, and I was skeptical about them myself. However, my years of study in China have allowed me to experience the convenience and security of digital payments firsthand, to the point where I no longer carry a wallet. I believe that as emerging technologies like artificial intelligence continue to advance, the digital transformation of cross-border payment methods will be inevitable.

As a Gen Zer, I see entrepreneurial opportunities arising from this expo. The rapid development of digital technology has greatly improved the online shopping and transaction experience, providing greater sustainability and vitality to the cross-border e-commerce industry.

In summary, this event deepened my understanding of digital trade and filled me with anticipation for the cooperation prospects between China and Thailand in this field. I hope we can explore and seize new opportunities in the digital economy era together, injecting fresh energy into our economic development.
