Zhejiang University International Business School (ZIBS) is opened for its master admissions for international students!
ZIBS is officially launched on 15th November 2018, and nearly half of our students are from international backgrounds, which spans across 50+ nations. Headquartered in the Yangtze River Delta, a hub of innovation and one of the world's most dynamic regions, ZIBS' vision is to become a leading global ecosystem with a particular focus on new technologies, new economy and new finance.
Our four available postgraduate programs for international students are: Master of China Studies (MCS), Master in Communications and Management (MCM), international Master of Finance (iMF) and international Master of Business Administration (iMBA).

I. Program Details
MCS (Master of China Studies)
The Master of China Studies is a MA-level degree program with a strong focus on China’s political, economic, historical, and societal context. Its interdisciplinary curriculum allows you to work analytical and gain an in-depth understanding of China. Students would gain a unique perspective on the social and business environment of China. The aim is to cultivate China’s business expertise with global perspective and intercultural competence through a solid theoretical foundation and excellent business experience.
MCM (Master in Communications and Management)
Created in collaboration with Zhejiang University College of Media and International Culture (CMIC) and built on the longstanding international teaching philosophy of Zhejiang University, MCM is an interdisciplinary program committed to training leaders who combine global vision, intercultural competence and understanding of China to position themselves as globally-competitive China business experts. Graduates will be well-equipped to build successful careers in China in investment, management, international business, intercultural communication and other fields.
iMF (international Master of Finance)
The program is dedicated to developing leaders with global vision, industry skills and impeccable professionalism. Students will master principles of finance and information analysis, learn to skillfully apply financial theories to real-world settings, become deeply knowledgeable in cutting-edge industry trends in China and abroad and develop strong entrepreneurial and innovation skills. Graduates will be equipped to excel in the finance and technology industries and in government and become globally competitive practitioners of finance.
iMBA (international Master of Business Administration)
The program is dedicated to advancing leaders who can envision and implement original business concepts. Scholars and students of diverse backgrounds benefit from the collaborative learning environment, world-class research and academic theory which is integrated with business practice. The program actively promotes practical cooperation with top domestic and international firms. It encourages students to expand their professional opportunities and to apply their MBA learnings to real, practical situations. The aim is to develop senior managers and future business leaders with an interdisciplinary perspective, building cross-cultural business skills to thrive in the ever-changing global economy.
II. Eligibility
1. General Requirements
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with proper moral conduct, in good health with no infectious disease or any physical or mental diseases that may affect the normal study, have a bachelor’s degree (Applicant who has not got the degree certificate when applying shall provide the pre-graduation certificate first, then provide the academic degree certificates no later than registration) and be under the age of 35 (Age limit is flexible for healthy applicants with certain work experience and high academic ability).
2. Requirements on Nationality
2.1 Applicant who has given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens shall provide the documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese nationality, according to the policy of Ministry of Education of the PRC.
2.2 If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents were both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents was a Chinese citizen,parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent resident in foreign country should be obtained prior to the birth of the applicant.
3. Language Proficiency Requirements

4.Specific Requirements for Each Degree Program
MCS
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any given major
- Applicants must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 90 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above), or other proof which can reflect the applicants’ English proficiency (except for English native speakers, or those who obtained their bachelors’ degree in English-taught programs)
- No Chinese language proficiency is required for the program
MCM
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any given major
- Applicants must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 90 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above), or other proof which can reflect the applicants’ English proficiency (except for English native speakers, or those who obtained their bachelors’ degree in English-taught programs)
- No Chinese language proficiency is required for the program
iMF
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any given major
- Applicants must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 90 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above), or other proof which can reflect the applicants’ English proficiency (except for English native speakers, or those who obtained their bachelors’ degree in English-taught programs)
- No Chinese language proficiency is required for the program
iMBA
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any given major
- Applicants must have an internet-based TOEFL test score 90 or IELTS test score 6.5 (or above), or other proof which can reflect the applicants’ English proficiency (except for English native speakers, or those who obtained their bachelors’ degree in English-taught programs)
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience would be a plus
III. Application Duration
From now on to February 28, 2023.
Application for scholarships will be processed according to the schedules of different scholarships respectively.
Note: Applicants must complete the application in the Online Application System for International Students (Link) before the deadline, provide all materials in full as required, and pay the application fee.
IV. Application Fee and Tuition Fee
1. Application Fee: RMB 800 yuan (non-refundable)
2. Way of Payment: Application fee and tuition fee should be paid in the online application system.If one fails to make the online payment, then one MUST pay the application fee to the University’s Bank Account (Link), and upload the remittance letter to the System.
3. Tuition Fee: iMF program is RMB 148,000 for two years; iMBA program is RMB 218,000 for two years; MCM program is RMB 132,000 for two years; MCS program is RMB 66,000 per year, up to two years (please do notice that the price may subject to change).
Notes:
--The Tuition fee standard listed above is for reference ONLY. The tuition fee standard released at registration shall prevail.
--For self-funded students, the tuition fee is not refundable.
VI. Documents for Application
Applicants must log in to the Online Application System for International Students of Zhejiang University (http://isinfosys.zju.edu.cn/recruit/login.shtml), fill in clearly and upload completely the original or notarized scanned copies of the following materials as required.
Application checklist:
1. A photocopy of passport.
2. Highest degree certificates. Highest degree certificates. If applicants are university students, they shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate. The original or notarized copy of the academic qualification certificate must be submitted after admission (the degree certificate must be obtained no later than registration).
3. Academic transcripts during Bachelor’s degree study, which must be original documents or notarized copies.
4. Language proficiency certificates. (Download)
5. Personal statement, in Chinese or English, should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposal. No less than 1500 words.
6. Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, in Chinese or English. (Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.)
7. Published academic papers or other academic achievements. (If applicable)
8. Applicants are encouraged to provide GRE、NTS-GAT test score.
9. Applicant who has given up their original Chinese citizenship and become foreign citizens shall provide the documents certifying the cancellation of Chinese nationality, according to the policy of Ministry of Education of the PRC.
10. If the applicant has acquired foreign citizenship automatically at the time of birth in a foreign country, whose parents are both Chinese citizens, or one of the parents is a Chinese citizen, please provide
[1] documents certifying acquiring foreign citizenship at the time of birth;
[2] documents certifying parent’s (with Chinese citizenship) permanent residence in foreign country before the birth of applicants.
Notes:
1. After submitting the above materials in the online system, please pay the application fee in the system or upload the remittance voucher of the application fee.
2. The above application materials must be in Chinese or English, and notarized copies of translations must be provided for texts in other languages.
3. Please do NOT post the hard copies of the application materials or send them by e-mail. The paper application materials and the application materials sent by e-mail will not be reviewed and processed.
4. Supplementary materials or video interviews may be required when necessary.
V. Selection Process, Admissions and Notification
1. The university enrollment will be made on the basis of competitive selection according to the applicants’ research ability, academic performance, language proficiency, performance during video interview, etc.
2. Time of announcing the admission results: Admission Notice, Visa Application Forms with other relevant documents will be sent out from the end of July 2023 in different batches.
3. Applicants will be informed about their application result via Online Application System for International Students (Link).
VI. Registration
1. Admitted applicants must register with the university strictly according to the time specified in the admission notice. The original graduation certificate, original degree certificate, original language proficiency certificate will be checked upon registration. Those who fail to provide the corresponding certificates will be disqualified for admission.
2. Master’s degree programs of Zhejiang University usually start from end of August or early of September every year. For exact registration dates, please refer to the Admission Notice.

VIII. Medical Insurance
Fee: 800 RMB yuan/academic year
According to the regulations of Ministry of Education, international students who come to our school to study for one semester or longer must purchase comprehensive medical insurance in mainland of China as a necessary requirement for their registration for the new semester.
Students who fail to purchase the comprehensive medical insurance which meet certain requirements will NOT be registered by the university.
Information related to purchasing insurance will be notified in detail before registration. The admitted students should handle insurance affairs strictly according to the instructions on the notice.
IX. Accommodation
The International Campus provides room ranges from double-room to single-room, the cost ranges from RMB 8,000 to RMB 10,000 per academic year (10 months). Details please visit at the Residential College of International Campus, Zhejiang University via: https://residential.intl.zju.edu.cn/en
