About GCM

Program Overview

Adhering to Zhejiang University (QS2024: 44th,C9 League)’s international teaching philosophy, Global Communication and Management (GCM)’s aims to train future entrepreneurs, leaders and policymakers with combinative management capabilities and critical understanding of China remarkable transformation through science & technology. Our students are expected to serve as bridge between China and the world.

Students will gain a sound understanding of the fundamentals of management, finance & economics, various aspects of communication practice, as well as gain practical internship experience in a real-life context. Upon graduation, students will acquire abilities:

• Excel in financial and business analysis that lay foundation for managing/solving complex societal problem

• Develop effective cross cultural communication skills for academic and professional contexts.

• Learn to think critically across a variety of subjects—fostering an informed, independent worldview with China experience.

Program Highlights

Interdisciplinary pedagogy

GCM is the first English taught undergraduate program recruited only international students. This is also the first well rounded-trailblazing program combines management, finance & economics, communication and China Studies multidisciplinary. Different with other conventional bachelor programs, our multidisciplinary programs taught by globally respected faculty prepared students with combinative capabilities that solve complex societal problems.

Immersive world-class learning environment

Our current student portfolio consists of 60 nationalities. We provide an immersive learning and living experience with peers around the world. Student will benefit from recognizing the differences exist between them and their peers, cultivating a sense of harmonious communication with understanding. As such, we help student winning in vast, diverse workplaces and further promote a more inclusive society. Beyond the campus

No undergraduate business degree by itself can teach someone to be a competent manager, that comes with practical experience. Students are expose to ZIBS ecosystems with ample of opportunities access to China innovation startups and incumbent companies. Students are required to participate in 6-month practical internship program in fulfilling the degree requirements. Through the 6-month internship program, students choose an ideal company at their interests, for more information on potential internship opportunities here.

China experience

China will become the largest economy driven by strong innovation and technological forces by 2035. To outperform in the future, it is critical to understanding China by engaging in China and with China. GCM helps students to delve into China business environments through different type of activities. The activities include but not limit to: Cultural experience, field trips, company visits, compulsory internships, interactions with founders and CEOs from ZIBS ecosystem.

    At ZIBS, we demonstrate care for our students in various aspects of life through support services.

    (1)Counselling Center: Mental health education are regularly organized, click here for more information. Students can make appointment for psychological counselling at student platform-myZJU.

    (2)Health and Welllness Program: We promote healthy living through fitness facilities and wellness programs. The iZJU campus is well equipped with sports facilities including basketball courts, football fields, tracks, volleyball courts, dancing rooms, gymnasiums, squash halls, tennis halls, badminton halls, indoor swimming pool. Despite the conventional climbing the corporate ladder, ZIBS uniquely serve our students with ZIBS Innovation Center that boost start-up dream.   • Your Home Abroad

    iZJU adopts collegiate systems with the aim to provide students with homey residential for our students. Spacious, well-furnished with sufficient facilities such as multifunctional learning rooms, discussion rooms, gymnasiums, band rooms and recreation area for students after academic endeavors. The Global Communication and Management Program (GCM) at ZIBS is dedicated to training thought leaders with the combined capabilities and China experience needed to solve the world's most pressing problems. We offer students a wide range of perspectives through multidisciplinary courses and practical opportunities to engage with industry partners within the ZIBS ecosystem. Students will develop personal and professional skills, understanding and addressing complex management problems in the contemporary business environment.     “Working or Learning in a dynamic multi-cultural environment requires a strong commitment and a well-balanced life to remain active and healthy and integrate positively.”

    Gilles is responsible for fostering cross-cultural understanding, integration, and communication among students on campus, in addition to promoting wellbeing management. He also oversees a number of workshop series that provide extracurricular support and enrich the lives of students, among others; these include workshops on culture development, public speaking, and career development. Additionally, he is co-organizing the Me&China Series and the Business Practice Series at this time. Furthermore, he offers assistance to students across the campus in the development of community outreach programs and student managed activities.

    Centered around students' growth, we implement a variety of measures, including career planning guidance, the cultivation of professional qualities and abilities, internship experiences, and employment services. We offer activities such as alumni/industry mentor discussions, corporate visits, corperate session, one-on-one mentorship for career guidance, mock interviews, and innovation & entrepreneurship initiatives. Our goal is to provide students with specialized, personalized, and systematic training in career skills and guidance for innovation and entrepreneurship.
